Abstract

In recent years,multiple uranium anomalies have been identified in the first and second members of the Sifangtai Formation in the Sanxing area of the northern Songliao Basin,indicating significant potential for sandstone-hosted uranium mineralization in this region.In order to further understand the relationship between the uranium mineralization and the sedimentary characteristics of the Sifangtai Formation in the study area,this study integrates core observation,single-well facies analysis,sedimentary facies analysis of multi-wells profiles,and the distribution characteristics of sand bodies to reconstruct the sedimentary facies of the first and second members of the Sifangtai Formation.The results show that the study area is characterized by a braided river-meandering delta sedimentary system with the primarily sourced from the north and northeast and supplementary input from the northwest.Uranium mineralization in the first member of the Sifangtai Formation is mainly found in multi-rhythmic sand bodies formed by the superposition of multiple river channels.In the second member,uranium mineralization occurs in two settings:areas where sand content decreases from high to low on both sides of the river channels,and interfluve regions of the river channels.These findings suggest that the development characteristics of sedimentary subfacies significantly influence the distribution range of uranium mineralization anomalies in the area.Furthermore,the analysis indicates that the Sifangtai Formation in the study area bears favorable lithofacies,structural,and post-depositional oxidative alteration conditions for sandstone-hosted uranium mineralization,has great potential for uranium exploration.
