Abstract

Gamma logging is a critical prospecting method in uranium geological exploration.The migration of radium and radon in uranium-bearing strata significantly impacts the quantitative interpretation of gamma logging and the reserve estimation of uranium deposits.The radon suppression phenomenon can disrupt the radium-radon equilibrium,leading to reduced quantitative interpretation outcome from gamma logging,thereby adversely affecting the accuracy of uranium deposit reserve calculations.Dalin uranium deposit in Songliao basin is divided into four mineralized horizons.This study selected two geophysical parameter boreholes as the research subjects to calculate the radium-radon equilibrium coefficient with three methods.We conducted calculations and studies on the main layers(ore Layer Ⅰ and ore Layer Ⅱ)of the Dalin uranium deposit,compared and analyzed the results.The results indicate that the two boreholes exhibited rapid radon recovery during the initial phase,both approached radium-radon equilibrium within 30 to 40 days.This observation indicates that the Dalin uranium deposit possesses favorable formation permeability and high water saturation.Furthermore,ore Layer Ⅱ reached the equilibrium state of radium-radon earlier than ore Layer Ⅰ,indicating better formation permeability and higher radon exhalation rate in ore Layer Ⅱ.In calculating the radium-radon equilibrium coefficient,the geophysical parameter borehole observation method demonstrates higher accuracy and reliability than the comparative method based on gamma logging interpretation and sampling analysis.Specifically,the non-linear fitting method better reflects the entire process from the disruption to the restoration of the radium-radon equilibrium,effectively minimizing errors caused by fluctuations in the observations.
