Biological Functions of Pomegranate Rind and Its Application in Animal Production
摘要
Abstract
With the ban on growth-promoting antibiotic feed additives,the development of alternative feed additives to replace growth-promoting antibiotics has become a research hotspot.Pomegranate rind(Pomegranate Rind)is the peel of the pomegranate fruit from Punicaceae family.Pomegranate rind is rich in various active components such as polyphenols,flavonoids,and alkaloids,and possesses multiple pharmacological functions including antibacterial,antiviral,antioxidant,anthelmintic,and antitumor properties,making it a suitable alternative to growth-promoting antibiotics.In the field of animal production,researches on the application of pomegranate rind and its extracts is limited,and its potential value has not been fully explored.This review summarizes the main active components,pharmacological effects,and applications of pomegranate rind in production,aiming to provide references for the use of pomegranate rind and its extracts as novel alternatives to growth-promoting antibiotics in the animal production sector.关键词
