Research Progress on the Application of 3-Nitrooxypropanol(3-NOP)in Methane Emission Reduction in Dairy Cows
摘要
Abstract
Methane(CH4)is an inevitable metabolite produced during the metabolic process of dairy cows,which not only leads to energy loss in the feed used for milk production but also contributes significantly to the greenhouse effect.In the rumen of dairy cows,CH4 is generated through a series of enzymatic reactions catalyzed by rumen microorganisms,with the final step involving the conversion of Methyl-CoM(methyl coenzyme M)catalyzed by methyl-coenzyme M reductase(MCR),resulting in CH4 production.3-Nitrooxypropanol(3-NOP)is a small-molecule nitro compound that can oxidize the Ni atom in the active center of MCR from+1 to+2,thereby inhibiting its catalytic activity toward Methyl-CoM and effectively reducing CH4 emissions from the rumen.Although research on the application of 3-NOP in dairy production has become a global hotspot in recent years,domestic studies on this topic remain very limited.This article focuses on the pathways of ruminal CH4 production,the mechanism of 3-NOP,and related research progress both domestically and internationally,aiming to provide references for the future application of 3-NOP in China's dairy farming industry.关键词
