Abstract
This study uses panel data from 2006 to 2020,covering 11 coastal provinces(autonomous regions and municipalities)in China,to examine the impact of marine industry clustering on the competitiveness of the marine industry.The main findings are as follows:(1)Marine industry clustering significantly enhances local marine industry competitiveness;(2)Heterogeneity analysis,based on geographic location and economic foundations,reveals that the positive effect of clustering on marine industry competitiveness is more pronounced in northern marine economic zones and economically stronger regions;(3)Mechanism testing indicates that marine industry clustering fosters regional innovation and informatization,which drives high-quality development in the marine industry.Additionally,after conducting a series of robustness tests,the results remain consistent.The conclusions of this study demonstrate that marine industry clustering significantly enhances local competitiveness in the marine industry.This not only enriches the academic discourse on the relationship between marine industry clustering and competitiveness but also offers valuable policy guidance for advancing regional marine industry transformation and upgrading pathways.关键词
