Role of lactoferrin in bone remodelling
摘要
Abstract
Lactoferrin(LF)is a multifunctional protein,a member of the transferrin family,with anti-inflam-matory,antioxidant,and immunological properties.Bone is one of the largest organ systems in the human body and has the role of supporting movement,protection,storage of minerals and regulation of metabolism.Bone is a dynamically active tissue that requires constant remodelling to maintain its normal physiological function.A large number of studies have found that LF has a role in regulating bone remodelling,however,the specific mechanism has not been fully elucida-ted.This article summarizes the structure and function of LF through literature review and elaborates the potential mecha-nism of lactoferrin in regulating bone remodelling,and it provides a theoretical basis for in-depth study of the role of LF on bone remodelling and a new idea for the treatment of bone diseases in clinical practice.关键词
