Abstract
As a third-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic,pradofloxacin can interferes with the replication,transcription,and recombination of bacterial DNA by reversely binding with bacterial DNA rotase and topoisomerase Ⅳ,causing the bacterial die rapidly.It has the characteristics of rapid absorption,high bioavailability and broad spectrum efficacy.In 2011,the Committee for Veterinary Medicinal Products(CVMP)of EMA approved pradofloxacin as an antibacterial for dogs and cats,which was the first application in the field of veterinary medicine.In 2023,Announcement No.725 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs approved the registration of pradofloxacin oral suspension and pradofloxacin tablets of German KVP Kiel Co.,Ltd.as an antibacterial for dogs and cats in China.This marked pradofloxacin entered the pet medicine market in China for the first time.This article reviews the mechanism of action,pharmacokinetics,antibacterial effect,clinical application in dogs and cats,use and development prospects at home and abroad,aiming to promote the development and application of pradofloxacin in China.关键词
