Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1)and interleukin-6(IL-6)in gastric cancer tissues and to analyze their relationship with clinicopathological features and prognosis.Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 156 gastric cancer patients treated in the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery of the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University from January 2017 to November 2018.Gastric cancer tissues and paired normal adjacent tissues obtained via surgical resection or puncture were used as specimens.Immunohistochemical staining was performed to qualitatively detect IGF-1 and IL-6 expressions.The expression levels of IGF-1 and IL-6 in gastric cancer tissues were compared with those in normal adjacent tissues.The clinicopathological features and prognosis of patients with positive versus negative expressions of IGF-1 and IL-6 in gastric cancer tissues were analyzed.Results The positive expression rates of IGF-1 and IL-6 in gastric cancer tissues were higher than those in normal tissues adjacent to the cancer(56.4％vs.32.1％,58.3％vs.29.5％,respectively,all P＜0.05).The group of IGF-1 positive expression in gastric cancer tissues had higher proportions of patients with age＞50 years,low differentiation,TNM stage Ⅳ,T3-T4 infiltration,lymph node metastasis,vascular invasion and neurological invasion compared with the group of IGF-1 negative expression(all P＜0.05).Patients with positive expression of IL-6 in gastric cancer tissues had higher proportions than those with negative expression of IL-6 in low differentiation,TNM stage Ⅳ,lymph node metastasis and nerve invasion(all P＜0.05).The 5-year survival rate of patients with positive expressions of IGF-1 and IL-6 alone and in combination in gastric cancer tissues were all significantly lower than that of patients with negative expressions(23.17％vs.62.28％,40.94％vs.55.13％,24.17％vs.70.28％,respectively,all P＜0.05).Conclusion IGF-1 and IL-6 are highly expressed in gastric cancer tissues and are associated with poor prognosis.关键词
