Building an Important World-class Education Hub:The Mission,Challenges and Pathways for the Internationalization of Skill-based Universities

Abstract
Building an important world-class education hub is a strategic requirement for China to achieve educational modernization and become a leading nation in education.As an integral part of higher education,alongside research-oriented and application-oriented universities,skill-based universities serve as a critical nexus linking the educational system with the industrial system,as well as connecting local practices with international standards.Their internationalization process strategically supports the construction of the education hub by expanding global cooperation networks,sustainably injecting talent flow,technological advancements,institutional capacity,and cultural energy into it.Currently,the internationalization of skill-based universities faces challenges such as structural imbalances in talents supply,insufficient depth in industry-education integration,limited participation in vocational education standards,and cross-cultural identity differences.There is an urgent need to modernize the governance system as a strategic driver,build an international collaborative network for industry-education integration as a core support,establish an integrated guarantee mechanism as an institutional foundation,and develop a multi-dimensional synergistic promotion plan.This will enable skill-based universities to truly become a solid foundation and powerful engine for China's journey toward becoming a world-class education hub.关键词
