消渴降糖膏在非增殖性糖尿病视网膜病变中的应用
The application of the Xiaoke Jiangtang herbal paste in treating non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy

Abstract
Objective:To evaluate therapeutic effects of the Xiaoke Jiangtang herbal paste(消渴降糖膏)on non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy(NPDR).Methods:A total of 94 NPDR patients admitted to the Endocrinology Department of Wuhu Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from March 2023 to June 2024 were randomly assigned to the observation group and the control group,with 47 cases in each.The control group was given conventional Western medicine treatment,while the observation group was additionally given the Xiaoke Jiangtang herbal paste.Both groups were treated for 12 weeks.Changes in TCM syndrome scores,retinopathy severity,BCVA,blood glucose,and blood lipid levels were assessed after treatment.Results:The total efficiency in the observation group was notably higher than the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the decrease of TCM syndrome score and BCVA amelioration in the observation group was more obvious than the control group(P<0.05).Both groups exhibited significant decreases in retinal microaneurysm,cotton wool spots,hard exudates,and retinal hemorrhage areas(P<0.05),with the observation group showing a more substantial reduction(P<0.05).Glucose,2-hour postprandial plasma glucose,glycosylated hemoglobin type A1c,total cholesterol,and low-density lipoprotein levels were all decreased significantly in both groups(P<0.05),with the observation group demonstrating a greater decline(P<0.05).The amelioration of high-density lipoprotein and triglyceride levels was noted in the observation group,but the difference between the two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion:The Xiaoke Jiangtang herbal paste can effectively ameliorate TCM symptoms and visual acuity of NPDR patients,reduce the glucose and blood lipid levels,and ameliorate retinopathy,which is worthy of clinical popularization.关键词
