Effects of different photovoltaic array designs on the natural restoration of plant communities and soil physicochemical properties in desert grasslands

摘要

Abstract

The restoration of damaged plants and soil properties is an important part of photovoltaic(PV)power station construction.In this study,we analyzed the effects of PV construction and different PV array types on plant communities and soil properties using the 100 MW PV power station in Yidangwan,Jingbian County,Shaanxi Province as a test area.The plant community cover,aboveground biomass,and Shannon-Wiener index under the panels were not significantly lower(P>0.05)than those in the undisturbed area(CK),although there were no significant differences between areas between the panels and undisturbed areas.The soil bulk density,water moisture,and soil organic carbon and ammonium nitrogen contents were significantly higher under the panels than in undisturbed areas(P<0.05).The plant community cover,aboveground biomass,Shannon-Wiener index,and Margalef index were significantly higher(P<0.05)under the panels of flat single-axis tracking PV arrays than under fixed adjustable PV arrays,while there were no significant differences in performance between the panels of the two types of PV arrays.The organic carbon content was significantly higher(P<0.05)under flat single-axis tracking PV arrays than under fixed adjustable PV arrays;however,there was no significant difference between the two types of arrays in terms of organic carbon content.A comprehensive evaluation of the plant community and soil quality showed greater recovery between the panels than under the panels.In conclusion,areas under and between the panels of PV arrays differ in the degree of recovery,and flat single-axis tracking PV arrays are more favorable for the ecological recovery of desert grasslands.This study provides a scientific basis for the selection of PV arrays in the construction of PV power stations in desert grasslands.
