Abstract
Cap polyposis is a rare benign colorectal condition that can occur across all age groups,with a higher preva-lence in males.The etiology of cap polyposis remains unclear.Common clinical manifestations include mucoid diarrhea,constipation,rectal bleeding,tenesmus,and recurrent anal protrusion.Most patients with cap polyposis have a long his-tory of constipation.Diagnosis of cap polyposis relies primarily on endoscopy and pathological examination.Its laboratory and imaging findings lack specificity,and it must be differentiated from inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal neo-plasms.There is currently no standard treatment regimen for cap polyposis,and no malignant transformation has been reported.This article reports a case of a pediatric patient with rectal cap polyposis who showed no significant improve-ment after prolonged conservative treatment.Following multidisciplinary consultation,rectal anastomosis was performed,resulting in favorable clinical outcomes.This case,along with a review of relevant literature,aims to enhance clinicians'ability to identify cap polyposis,reduce misdiagnosis,and provide an effective and safe treatment strategy.关键词
