Abstract
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of adding Poria cocos extract to the feed on the growth performance of weaned piglets.Sixty 28-day-old weaned piglets were randomly assigned to four groups,each consisting of three replicates,with five piglets in each replicate.The groups were fed a basal diet(control group)and diets supplemented with 0.2%,0.4%,and 0.8%Poria cocos extract,respectively.The results demonstrated that the average daily weight gain of piglets receiving the 0.4%Poria cocos ex-tract was significantly increased by 16.83%(P＜0.05).Additionally,the feed to gain ratio was significantly reduced by 13.79%(P＜0.05),and the diarrhea rate was significantly decreased by 64.29%(P＜0.05).In summary,Poria cocos extract shows potential as a feed sup-plement for improving the growth performance of weaned piglets,providing an important theoretical basis for the development of new feed additives within the pig industry.关键词
