Abstract

Limited by vertical resolution and imaging quality of seismic data,traditional fault interpretation tech-nique is difficult to meet the precision requirements for fault interpretation in oilfield development.In order to achieve accurate fault identification in three-dimensional space,fine fault interpretation technique is integratively innovated through the collaborative fusion of dense well network data and high-resolution 3D seismic data,com-bined with well breakpoint information.The results show that,spatial extention characteristics of the faults are effec-tively identified by using high-quality structural attribute volumes such as variance body and ant body.Following the guiding principle of"seismic data defining the framework,and logging data refining the details",accurate matching of well breakpoints and fault surfaces is achieved to establish high-precision fault model,revealing that low-velocity layers under the footwall of large faults cause the uplift of seismic reflection events and the illusion of reverse fault characteristics.2D seismic forward modeling and frequency-division interpretation technique are com-bined to effectively identify the small low-order inter-well faults,making up for the deficiency of traditional seismic identification technique of small faults guided by well breakpoints,pointing out the existence of associated small faults within the large-fault fracture zone and the inaccuracy of simply classifying multiple fault points into a large fault during fault combination.The research significantly improves the success rate of fault points combination and the spatial identafication rate of faults,providing technical support for oilfield development,measure adjustment and plan formulation.
