Underwater Image Enhancement Based on Adaptive Color Compensation and Wavelet Fusion

Abstract
An underwater image enhancement algorithm based on adaptive color compensation and wavelet fusion is proposed to address the severe issues of color cast,insufficient contrast,and blurred details in underwater images.Initially,the quadtree method is employed to identify the type of color cast in the image,enabling adaptive color compensation to eliminate the color cast and to obtain a color-balanced images.Subsequently,a dual enhancement process focusing on both brightness and details is applied.In the HSV color space,an improved wavelet fusion algorithm is utilized to integrate the color-balanced image,brightness-enhanced image,and detail-enhanced image,thereby enhancing image details and contrast to produce the final images.The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can effectively correct image colors,enhances image contrast and details.关键词
