Abstract

This study aims to explore the regulatory effects of light conversion film on the greenhouse environment and solanaceous crop production in the subtropical monsoon climate zone.The eggplant cultivated in greenhouses in Dongting Lake area was taken as the research object.Comparison was conducted between light conversion film(T)and conventional PO film(CK).The dynamic monitoring of environmental factors and the analysis of crop physiological responses were performed to reveal the effects of light conversion film on the temperature and light environment of the greenhouse and the growth and development of eggplants.The results showed that the light conversion film increased the daily maximum temperature,daily mean humidity,and daily minimum humidity,while reducing the daily maximum light intensity to alleviate the strong light stress in the greenhouses.The light conversion film had no significant effect on the plant height,plant width,stem diameter,leaf length,leaf width or agronomic traits of eggplant fruits,while it significantly promoted the elongation of petiole and increased the malondialdehyde content and catalase activity of leaf.This result indicated that high temperatures caused membrane lipid peroxidation damage while activating the antioxidant system.The study revealed that light conversion film might induce heat stress when optimizing light quality gain.The application of light conversion film in Dongting Lake area needs the coordination between light quality optimization and thermal environment regulation.
