Effect of Methyl Jasmonate on Physiological and Biochemical Indexes and Spider Mite Resistance in Adzuki Bean
摘要
Abstract
In order to investigate the resistance induction of methyl jasmonate(MeJA)on adzuki bean(Vigna angularis)against Tetranychus pueraricola feeding, the mite-resistant variety Zhenzhuhong and the sensitive variety Tianjinhong were used to clarify the effect of MeJA on various physiological and biochemical indexes of adzuki bean leaves as well as the egg production of T.pueraricola.The results showed that with the increase of MeJA concentration, the contents of chlorophyll and soluble sugar in adzini bean leaves were higher than that of the control, while the contents of soluble protein were lower than that of the control. The activities of phenylalanine ammonolyase(PAL)and polyphenol oxidase(PPO)in Adzini bean leaves were higher than that of the control, and the activities of the two enzymes reached their peak when the concentration of MeJA reached 0.5 mmol·L-1.The combination of these indicators determined that 0.5 mmol·L-1MeJA may be the most effective in inducing resistance to the T.pueraricola in adzuki bean.Further application of 0.5 mmol·L-1MeJA to treat the leaves of small beans followed by inoculation with T.pueraricola.The results of the investigation on their egg production showed that the egg production was significantly decreased after MeJA treatment compared with the control group, indicating that 0.5 mmol·L-1MeJA can significantly induce resistance to T.pueraricola in adzuki bean, and possesses the potential of controlling the damage of T.pueraricola to adzuki bean.关键词
