Abstract

To explore the feasibility of bamboo scrimber in large-span space structures,this study utilized bolted steel-bamboo scrimber-steel connection single-layer spherical reticulated shell as the research object to investigate its static mechanical properties.Additionally,the research validated the applicability of the calculation method of stiffness and load-carrying capacity of the bolted steel-bamboo scrimber-steel connection in the single-layer spherical reticulated shell,proposed by the team in the previous period.The test results show that the static mechanical properties of bolted steel-bamboo scrimber-steel connection single-layer spherical reticulated shell are better,and the maximum deflection value is 1/32 of the span length,which is in good agreement with the finite element analysis results.The structure exhibits good performance of resistance to continuous collapse.When significant sagging or damage occurred at the vertices and surrounding areas,the remainder of the reticulated shell did not show significant deformation or obvious damage.When the structure reached its load-carrying capacity,the steel splints at the top nodes exhibited varying degrees of buckling,pressure damage was observed around the screw holes,and splitting occurred in some of the members.From the damage forms observed,the bamboo scrimber single-layer reticulated shell tend to strength failure.The results show that the theoretical method of stiffness and bearing capacity proposed in the previous study of the research group can accurately simulate the mechanical properties of bolted steel splint-bamboo scrimber connection.The bamboo scrimber has good application potential in large-span spatial structures,and bolted steel connection form can be used for the large-span spatial structures of bamboo scrimber.
