Abstract
In view of the fact that fiber straightness was one of the important indicators to evaluate the intrinsic quality of fibers,which had significant impact on the performance and quality of textiles,in order to realize the simple and rapid measurement of fiber straightness,the existing gravimetric method was improved.Experiments were conducted with viscose and polyester as examples.The new gravimetric method was used to study the fiber straightness in chemical fiber strips.With the tracer method as a reference,the feasibility of fiber straightness test by the new gravimetric method was verified.Firstly,the corresponding fluorescent fibers were mixed in proportion in viscose and polyester raw materials.Secondly,the card sliver,breaker sliver,intermediate sliver,final sliver and roving of viscose and polyester were observed in a fluorescent light box,the actual state of the fluorescent fibers was recorded,and the geometric structure parameters including the projection length and the fiber straightness length were tested,so that the fiber straightness was calculated by the tracer method.Finally,the fiber straightness of various fiber sliver were calculated by the new gravimetric method,and the calculation results of the tracer method were compared with the calculation results of the new gravimetric method.The results showed that the fiber straightness in the chemical fiber strips calculated based on the new gravimetric method was similar to the calculation result of the tracer method,and the average relative error was within 5.5%,which proved that the new gravimetric method was feasible to test the fiber straightness and could replace the tracer method to quickly measure the fiber straightness.关键词
