Review and Prospect of Vegetable Mechanization Development in China

Abstract
Vegetable production mechanization is a critical pathway to advancing agricultural modernization and ensuring the sustainable development of the vegetable industry.In recent years,China's vegetable mechanization level has grown at an average annual rate of 2 percent point,with the comprehensive mechanization rate projected to reach 48%by 2025.This paper systematically reviews the development trajectory of vegetable mechanization in China,from human-and animal-powered machinery in the 1950s to today's intelligent equipment,with a focus on analyzing technological innovations and industrialization progress in key processes such as land preparation,seedling raising,direct seeding,transplanting and harvesting.It also summarizes fully mechanized modes for typical vegetables,including leafy greens,Brassicas and facility-grown fruit vegetables.Despite notable achievements,challenges such as insufficient equipment supply and constrained application conditions persist.Future efforts should emphasize standardization,machine-adaptable infrastructure,electrification and unmanned technologies,while strengthening the integration of research,promotion and application to advance comprehensive mechanization in vegetable production and support the construction of an agricultural powerhouse.关键词
