Abstract
A significant breakthrough has been achieved in the deep exploration of gold deposits in the northwest Jiaodong region.Among the various ore-controlling factors for gold mineralization,the Mesozoic tectonic movements,magmatic activities,and metallogenic processes have played a crucial role in the large-scale formation of gold,silver,and polymetallic deposits in the region,with intense faulting activities being the dominant factor.This paper focuses on the ore-controlling role of regional deep-seated major faults and explores the controlling effects of fault activities on large-scale mineralization.The study suggests that the extraction of ore-forming materials is limited,as the migration from low-grade ore source beds to high-grade ore veins is poorly understood,especially under high pressures at depth,where migration often occurs from deep high-grade ore source beds to shallow low-grade fault zones.Alternatively,the migration and accumulation of ore-forming materials from mantle plumes,mantle sub-plumes,and mantle branch structures may be the primary controlling factors.Through the multi-stage evolution of mantle plumes,the migration carriers of ore-forming materials,in the form of gaseous,gas-liquid,and liquid states,migrate upward from the deep to the dilation zones of mantle branch structures where moderate temperature and pressure conditions are favorable for mineralization.The Jiaojia Fault and Sanshandao Fault,located on the northwestern margin of the Guojiadian mantle branch structure,not only serve as the main migration pathways for ore-forming fluids but also constitute extremely important favorable spaces for mineralization and ore storage,resulting in the formation of world-class super-large gold deposits.关键词
