Abstract
The first trapeziometacarpal osteoarthritis is particularly prevalent among middle-aged and elderly individuals,with incidence increasing with age.Its pathogenesis is complex,involving various internal and external factors.Patients primarily present with pain,functional loss,and restricted thumb movement,which consequently affects their daily activities and ability to work.Therefore,effective treatment is critical.As our understanding of the first trapeziometacarpal osteoarthritis joint deepens and new materials emerge,an increasing number of treatment strategies are becoming available.This article reviews the recent advances in the pathogenesis,diagnostic criteria,non-surgical and surgical treatment strategies,prognostic assessment,and potential future directions in the management of the first trapeziometacarpal osteoarthritis.关键词
