Abstract
The article systematically explored the influence of modified halloysite(mHNTs)content on the mechanical properties,thermodynamic properties and flame retardancy of polyethylene terephthalate/modified halloysite(PET/mHNTs)composites.The results showed that when the mass fraction of mHNTs was 8%,the mechanical properties of the composites reached the optimal value,and the breaking strength and elastic modulus were increased by 42.4%and 35.7%respectively compared with pure PET,which was attributed to the rigid tubular structure reinforcement effect and improved interface compatibility of mHNTs.When the mass fraction of mHNTs was 16%,the mechanical properties decreased due to filler agglomeration,but the flexural modulus continued to increase by 15.8%with increasing content.Thermal analysis showed that mHNTs improved crystallinity and reduced melting point through heterogeneous nucleation.The flame retardancy of the composites was significantly optimized.When the mass fraction of mHNTs was 8%,the LOI reached 28.7%,and the UL-94 grade increased to V-0.Cone calorimetry data showed that its peak heat release rate was reduced by 35.4%,and the CO yield was reduced by 71.4%.Studies show that mHNTs can effectively enhance the comprehensive properties of PET.关键词
