Abstract

The accurate calculation of flexural bearing capacity of reactive powder concrete(Reactive Powder Concrete,RPC)beam is of great significance for the design and application of RPC beam.With the variation of steel fiber content and the strength grade of RPC,the stress pattern in the tensile zone of RPC beams during the bending process will change correspondingly.Based on the plane section assumption and average strain theory,this study analyzes the impact of concrete stress in the tension zone of RPC beams.A non-working region from the edge to the neutral axis direction is identified until reaching ultimate tensile strain.An equivalent rectangular stress graph calculation model for the tensile zone is established to reflect the actual stress state.The stress coefficients for different volume and strength grades of steel fiber in the tensile region were determined,and a calculation formula for the bending capacity of RPC was established.A comparison was conducted between the proposed formula and experimental data from 15 RPC beams documented in literature.The results show a nonlinear relationship between the graph coefficient of stress in the tension zone and the steel fiber content.The deviation between the calculated values derived from the bearing capacity formula and experimental values is less than 10%,thereby demonstrating the reliability of the proposed formula.
