Abstract

The safety of sightseeing tunnels,as essential tourist facilities,are increasingly prominent.Understanding the evacuation characteristics of occupants within these tunnels and developing effective evacuation strategies is crucial for ensuring visitor safety and reducing public property losses.This study systematically examines the evacuation characteristics of a specific scenic area's sightseeing tunnel using Pathfinder software.By designing multiple emergency evacuation scenarios,the study assesses the impact of different fire locations and personnel flow paths on evacuation efficiency.It focuses on analyzes evacuation time,flow rate,and potential bottlenecks under different conditions to identify key factors affecting evacuation effectiveness,thus providing guidance for optimizing evacuation strategies.The results indicate that when a fire breaks out at the tunnel entrance,evacuation time is the longest.In collaborative evacuation along two paths,when personnel distribution ranges from 1.71 to 3.50,evacuation time is shorter,facilitating quicker evacuation.In the early stage of evacuation,an increased number of lower-level fire elevators leads to reduced evacuation time.Furthermore,the implementation of bypass corridors can effectively alleviate congestion and shorten evacuation times.The study recommends that placing the bypass corridor in the middle of the sightseeing tunnel,with a width of 2.5 meters,is a reasonable design choice.
