The Net Income Growth Effect of China's Poverty Reduction Policies and International References
摘要
Abstract
Debates persist regarding whether poverty reduction outcomes stem from economic growth or policy interventions.To explore this issue,using the survey data from 7537 registered impoverished individuals across two poverty-stricken counties during China's targeted poverty alleviation policy implementation period(2015-2020),this paper employs a reverse differ-ence-in-differences(DID)model to precisely identify the net effect of poverty alleviation policy interventions in the basis of con-trolling economic fundamentals and individual-,household-,and village-level characteristics.The empirical results reveal that the poverty alleviation policy significantly improves the income levels of impoverished households,increasing their per capita net income by 17%,and this conclusion still holds true after a series of robustness tests.The findings provide reliable quantitative evi-dence for clarifying the independent role of policy intervention in poverty reduction.关键词
