Abstract
Community philanthropy is a form of public charity practice that op-erates at the grassroots level of urban and rural communities,aiming to mobilize internal and external resources and integrate the efforts of multiple stakeholders to meet commu-nity needs,improve residents' welfare,strengthen community cohesion,and promote social harmony.This paper starts with the definition,classification,and basic attributes of community philanthropy,clarifying its key attributes of locality,collaboration,public interest,dynamism,participation,and sustainability,and reviews key theoreti-cal perspectives in both Western and Chinese research.By comparing the origins and de-velopment of community philanthropy in the West with the historical and policy evolu-tion of traditional and modern philanthropy in China,the paper reveals the similarities and differences between community philanthropy in these two contexts and its unique role.Drawing on typical cases of community philanthropy in Chengdu and Shunde,the paper summarizes the practical characteristics and innovative paths of community philan-thropy in China,exploring its functions in resource integration,social innovation,and relationship reconstruction in grassroots governance.The paper argues that future community philanthropy will achieve innovation and breakthroughs in multiple dimen-sions,including institutionalization and professionalization,digitalization and innova-tion,the shift from relief to empowerment,social capital accumulation,and the inte-gration of global perspectives with local practices,making significant contributions to the modernization of grassroots governance and the promotion of social innovation and sustainable development.关键词
