Structural Characteristics and Immunological Function Analysis of Bovine Coronavirus M Protein

Abstract
Bovine coronavirus(BCoV)can cause respiratory and digestive tract diseases in cattle,resulting in significant economic losses to the cattle industry.The M protein,as a key structural protein of BCoV,is crucial for virus assembly,maturation,and release.However,there are currently few studies on its structure and function.In this study,BCoV genome sequences were obtained from the NCBI database,and the nucleotide and amino acid sequences of the M protein were extracted.Bioinformatics tools such as Mega,ProtParam,DeepTMHMM,SignalP,SOPMA,SwissModel,and IEDB were used to analyze the phylogenetic relationship of amino acid sequences,physicochemical properties,transmembrane structure,protein structure,and B-cell antigen epitopes of the M protein.The results showed that the sequence identity of the M proteins of 19 strains was 99.08%.The M protein was hydrophobic and stable,containing three transmembrane domains and no signal peptide sequence.Multiple potential antigen epitopes were screened out,such as 18-23(AIKFLK),128-134(DMKGRMY),etc.This study revealed the structural and immunological function characteristics of the BCoV M protein,providing a theoretical basis and new targets for vaccine design and antiviral drug development.关键词
