Modern Research and Development Ideas and Suggestions for Huanglong Decoction Based on Ancient and Modern Application Foundations and Preparation Methods

Abstract
Objective To investigate the correlation between Huanglong Decoction and modern fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT)therapy,and to put forward modern research and development ideas and strategies based on traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)theory.Methods The ancient and modern application basis and preparation methods of Huanglong Decoction were systematically reviewed,and the historical origins,the nature,flavor,and efficacy,and the ancient preparation techniques of Huanglong Decoction were summarized by literature research.The similarities and differences between Huanglong Decoction and modern FMT in donor screening,preparation process,mechanism of action,and clinical application,and the research and development suggestions based on modern technology were put forward.Results The preparation method,mechanism of action,and clinical application of ancient Huanglong Decoction and modern FMT have significant similarities.In terms of preparation methods,donor selection was emphasized in the two methods.With the advancement of technology,the preparation of fecal bacterial liquid and powder has shifted from primitive manual to modern automation and intelligence.The preparation process could be roughly divided into steps such as collection,dispersion,washing,filtration,centrifugation,cryopreservation/freeze-drying of fecal bacteria.In terms of mechanism of action,the two methods could improve the intestinal microbiota,regulate the balance of the immune system and the expression of inflammatory factors,regulate metabolism,reduce epithelial cell apoptosis,decrease intestinal permeability,and alleviate inflammatory reactions,and protect the barrier function of the intestine.In terms of clinical application,the two methods were mainly used to treat bacterial infections,functional gastrointestinal diseases,constipation and chronic diarrhea,rheumatoid arthritis,systemic lupus erythematosus,multiple sclerosis,Parkinson's disease,metabolic syndrome,tumors and other diseases.Conclusion It is necessary to deeply explore traditional theories,actively open up clinical applications,and establish standards for Chinese herbs as soon as possible.It is recommended to use TCM theory as a guide and modern technology as a basis to innovate Huanglong Decoction preparations and new drugs,and provide effective drugs for the treatment of modern difficult and complicated diseases and refractory illnesses.关键词
