A Visualization Study on Needle-Warming Moxibustion Intervention for Sub-Health Yang Deficiency Constitution Based on Infrared Thermography and Pulse Diagnosis Imaging

Abstract
Objective:To explore the clinical effect of needle-warming moxibustion on individuals with sub-health Yang deficiency constitution using infrared thermography and pulse diagnosis imaging.Methods:78 individuals with sub-health Yang deficiency constitution were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group,with 39 cases in each group.The treatment group received needle-warming moxibustion combined with TCM health guidance,once every two days,three times per week,with six sessions constituting one treatment course,for a total of two courses.The control group received TCM health guidance focusing on diet,exercise,daily routine,and emotional regulation.Infrared thermography and pulse diagnosis instruments were used to observe changes in the average surface temperature of Mingmen(DU4),kidney,lower burner regions,Pishu(BL20),Shenshu(BL23),Yaoyangguan(DU3),Shenque(RN8),distal extremities,and limbs before and after the treatment in both groups.Objective TCM pulse parameters and clinical efficacy were also analyzed.Results:Compared with before intervention,the average temperature of various acupoint regions,distal extremities(both palms,backs of both hands,and dorsum of the left foot),and skin areas of the limbs increased significantly in the treatment group,with statistically significant differences(P＜0.05,P＜0.01).The control group showed a significant increase in the average temperature of the lower burner region and skin areas(Shaoyang),with statistically significant differences(P＜0.05).Compared to the control group,the treatment group exhibited a significant increase in average surface temperature at DU4,right Pishu(BL20),right Shenshu(BL23),Yaoyangguan(DU3),lower burner,Shenque(RN8),both palms,dorsum of the left foot,and skin areas of the limbs(Taiyang and Shaoyang),with a statistically significant difference(P＜0.05,P＜0.01).The treatment group showed a significant post-intervention increase in h1 and h3 of the right hand,as well as w1 of the left hand compared to those in the control group,with statistically significant differences(P＜0.05,P＜0.01).After the intervention,the treatment group showed significant improvements in the physical status dimension(including energy,physical strength,eyes,mouth,throat,cardiopulmonary function,limbs,bowel movements,and reproductive system),the psychological status dimension(emotions),and the total score,with statistically significant differences(P＜0.05,P＜0.01).The control group showed improvement in physical strength within the physical status dimension after the intervention compared to that before the intervention,with a statistically significant difference(P＜0.05).The treatment group demonstrated significant improvements in energy,ears,throat,and bowel movement sub-items,as well as in the total score compared to those in the control group,with statistically significant differences(P＜0.05,P＜0.01).The total effective rate of the treatment group was 77.78％(28/36),which was higher than 51.35％(19/37)of the control group(P＜0.05).Follow-up observations revealed that the recurrence rate in the treatment group was 25.00％(9/36),which was lower than 54.52％(17/33)in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Needle-warming moxibustion combined with TCM health guidance can effectively improve low-temperature regions in individuals with sub-health Yang deficiency constitution and has a regulatory effect on visceral functions.Abnormal surface temperature changes in specific acupoints and affected areas may be specifically associated with Yang deficiency constitution in a sub-health state,providing objective evidence for TCM constitution differentiation and efficacy evaluation.关键词
