Exploration of the Advantages of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Treating Intestinal Metaplasia

Abstract
Intestinal metaplasia(IM)is a pathological change in the gastric mucosa that occurs after inflammatory stimulation.It is a key step in the progression from a precancerous state to a precancerous lesion and a risk factor for the development of gastric cancer.Although this condition does not have a specific name in traditional Chinese medi-cine,it has attracted widespread attention due to the remarkable efficacy of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)in preventing and treating IM.Guided by TCM theory,the application of unique TCM approaches,including internal and external treatments,integrated TCM and Western medicine,and individualized treatments,has demonstrated its unique advantages in improving patient symptoms and blocking or reversing gastric mucosal pathological manifestations.Its mechanisms may involve reducing inflammatory responses,inhibiting microvascular proliferation,and regulating the intestinal micro-biome,which are key to preventing and treating gastric cancer.This article explores the theoretical guidance and outstanding advantages of TCM in treating IM,providing a reference for the clinical diagnosis and treat-ment of IM and further research.关键词
