Abstract
To address the issue of low joint strength caused by insufficient elemental diffusion and the formation of brittle in-termetallic compounds during diffusion bonding between Ti6Al4V alloy and 022Cr17NiMo2 stainless steel(AISI 316L SS),this study conducted diffusion bonding between Ti6Al4V alloy and 316L SS,both before and after HCPEB treatment,using a Gleeble-3500 thermal-mechanical simulator under vacuum conditions.The bonding temperature ranged from 800 to 900℃,with a load of 10 MPa and a holding time of 40 minutes.The interface element distribution and microstructure of the joint were systematically characterized using analytical techniques such as SEM,EPMA,XRD,and TEM.The welding per-formance was evaluated through shear strength testing and diffusion kinetics assessment.The results indicate that effective diffusion bonding between Ti6Al4V alloy and 316L SS was achieved at 900℃after HCPEB pretreatment.Computational analysis determined the diffusion coefficient and activation energy of Fe in the Ti6Al4V alloy section,demonstrating that Fe exhibits a higher diffusion rate in the HCPEB-modified joint.Under the effects of dispersion strengthening and solid solution strengthening,the maximum shear strength of the modified joint at 900℃reached 208 MPa.Meanwhile,microstructural analysis reveals that a significant number of crystal defects induced by HCPEB,including vacancies,dislocations,and grain boundaries,are crucial factors in enhancing the diffusion of welding elements.Consequently,this method holds the potential to facilitate rapid and efficient diffusion bonding of dissimilar metals,offering new insights and technical support for the en-gineering applications of titanium alloy and stainless-steel composite structures in the aerospace and nuclear energy sectors.关键词
