Review on Carbon Footprint Accounting Technologies and Policy Standard for Product Life Cycle

Abstract
In response to the challenges of carbon emission accounting due to the diversity of China's manufacturing products and the complexity of the process,as well as the continuous strict low-carbon policies at home and abroad,this study uses a literature review and comparative analysis to assess mainstream carbon footprint accounting methods,standards,and their practical challenges in China's manufacturing sector,aiming to inform a unified framework.The analysis reveals that current carbon footprint accounting in China's manufacturing industry relies heavily on international standards but lacks a localized,practical,and industry-specific standard system.In practice,the enterprises also commonly face shared challenges,such as difficulties in data acquisition and ambiguity in defining system boundaries,while the application of emerging technologies like big data and artificial intelligence remains in an exploratory stage.Therefore,building a manufacturing carbon footprint accounting system that aligns with China's national conditions has become a pressing priority.Future efforts should focus on accelerating the development of sector-specific standards,establishing a national level emission factor database,and encouraging the application of digital technologies to enhance corporate carbon management,address international green trade barriers,and promote the industry's high-quality green transformation.关键词
