Effects of Transplanting Density on Yield and Dry Matter Accumulation in Rice with Large Seedling Age

Abstract
To investigate the effects of different transplanting densities under the same basic seedling number per unit area on the yield and dry matter accumulation of individual plants and populations in rice with large seedling age,the hybrid rice variety Zhuoliangyou1126 was selected for transplanting at a 60 day seedling age.Three transplanting densities were designed with a fixed basic seedling number per unit area for D1(12.50 hills/m2,4 seedlings per hill),D2(16.67 hills/m2,3 seedlings per hill),and D3(25.00 hills/m2,2 seedlings per hill).The effects of transplanting density on tiller development,yield,and dry matter accumulation at both population and individual levels were analyzed.The results showed that D3 sig-nificantly increased grains per panicle by 18.67%and 15.52%compared to D1 and D2,respectively.Dry matter accumula-tion per unit area at full heading stage and maturity stage increased by 24.48%and 13.73%(compared to D1 and D2)and 18.00%and 13.63%(compared to D1 and D2),respectively,with significant differences.The harvest index was signifi-cantly improved by 5.00%-6.97%.Under D1 treatment,the number of panicles at tillering peak,maximum seedlings,and effective panicles per hill were 35.23%-86.28%,38.05%-102.99%,and 39.14%-95.15%higher than those of D2 and D3,re-spectively,and the yield per hill was 30.78%-64.30%higher,with significant differences.Therefore,low density with more seedlings per hill favors individual plant development,while high density with fewer seedlings per hill better coordi-nates the relationship between individual plants and the population.Under the same basic seedling number,the D3 cultiva-tion method was recommended to enhance the yield of rice with large seedling age under unfavorable climatic conditions.关键词
