Abstract
In view of the external thermal protection requirements of aircraft,low-melting-point glass powder and short-cut phenolic/polysulfonamide fibers were added to the hydroxyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane(107 silicone rubber)coating as high temperature melting adhesive and reinforcement fibers,producing organic fiber reinforced ablative flexible silicone rubber coating.The purpose of this work is to investigate and compare the effects of the high temperature melting adhesive and different reinforcement fibers on the properties of silicone rubber thermal protection coating.Furthermore,the formulation was optimized to prepare organic fiber reinforced ablative flexible silicone rubber coating with excellent comprehensive performance.The performance of the coating was characterized by mechanical performance analysis,oxyacetylene flame ablation,thermophysical constant test and scanning electron microscopy.In the static ablation process,the low-melting-point glass powder melts and bonds under high temperature,improving the high-temperature shape retention of the coating.However,during the dynamic ablation process,as the amount of glass powder increases,the ablation performance of the coating decreases.The short-cut organic fibers significantly enhance the coating's resistance to high-temperature and high-speed airflow erosion.Coatings containing phenolic fibers exhibit superior ablation resistance with a more intace carbonized layer,smaller pores caused by the cracking gas of the matrix.When the content of phenolic fibers was 15 parts,the linear ablation rate of the coating droped to 0.14 mm/s.The comprehensive performance of fiber-reinforced ablation-resistant flexible silicone rubber coating C10#is excellent,featuring room temperature curing,lightweight(~0.53 g/cm3),good thermal insulation(room temperature thermal conductivity of 0.07 W/(m·K),specific heat capacity of~1164 J/(kg·K),superior mechanical properties(tensile strength of 1.6 MPa,elongation at break of 16%)and ablation resistance(linear ablation rate of 0.14 mm/s,mass ablation rate of 0.02 g/s).After the ablation of oxyacetylene flame for 10 s,the surface carbonized layer is dense and hard.It is anticipated that this coating will have potential applications in external thermal protection coatings for aircraft in the future.关键词
