Effects of combined application of different plant source seedling matrices and functional microorganisms on the growth of tobacco seedling

Abstract
[Objective]To explore the effects of different plant-based seedling substrates combined with functional microbial agents on the growth of tobacco seedling for screening new seedling substrates that can partially replace traditional seedling substrates.[Method]Using'Zhongyan 100'as the experimental material,five treatments were designed including commodity substrate as control(60%turf,25%expanded perlite and 15%vermiculite),plant-based seedling substrate Ⅰ as T1 treatment(10%carbonized peanut shells,50%turf,25%expanded perlite and 15%vermiculite),plant-based seedling substrate Ⅱ as T2 treatment(10%carbonized rice husks,50%turf,25%expanded perlite and 15%vermiculite),plant-based seedling substrate Ⅰ combined with microbial agents(Tricho-derma harzianum)as T3 treatment and plant-based seedling substrate Ⅱ combined with microbial agents(Trichoderma harzianum)as T4 treatment.The effects of combination with microbial agents on agronomic traits,photosynthetic characteristics,root morphology and dry-matter accumulation during the seedling stage were systematically analyzed in this study.[Result]Compared to the control,both plant-based substrates and their combinations with microbial agents increased the seedling emergence rate and shortened the time required for seedling establishment.The seedling index,chlorophyll con-tent,photosynthetic rate,stomatal conductance,leaf area and root activity reached the maximum at T3 treatment,increasing by 1.99-fold,52.96%,1.08-fold,87.50%,69.51%and 31.31%,respec-tively.[Conclusion]The seedling substrate with combination of two plant-based seedling substrates and microbial agents could create a favorable micro-ecological environment for root growth,effectively promoting the improvement of photosynthetic productivity of tobacco seedlings,conducive to the accu-mulation of dry matter in above-ground and underground.Generally,the T3 treatment(plant-based seedling substrate I combined with microbial agents)exhibited the most pronounced promoting effect compared with the other treatments.关键词
