Abstract

This paper is aimed at addressing the suboptimal stimulation outcomes caused by the diffi-culty in controlling the fracture propagation and the easy-to-connect aquifer with conventional fracturing techniques and proposes an offshore-adapted composite fracture height control technology.Taking a low-permeability complex fault-block reservoir with bottom water in the Sha-2 Member of the Bozhong Sag as the research object,the study involves using some combined technologies including optimizing perforation placement,reducing fracturing fluid viscosity,stepwise increase in output during mini-fracturing test and adding powdered diverting agents to establish artificial barriers and control construction scale for achieving the precise control of the fracture extension.The results show that the fracture height of Wells A and B can be effectively controlled after fracture,with the output of a single well by 70-86 m3/d and daily water a-mount below 6%,without water breakthrough,significantly improving the development efficiency in this bottom-water reservoir and providing a valuable reference for fracturing operations in analogous reservoirs.
