Experience of Li Tie in the treatment of primary immune thrombocytopenic purpura with the syndrome of dampness-heat leading to toxin amassment

Abstract
Li Tie believes that in the development of primary immune thrombocytopenic purpura,there is a fourth pathogenic factor"dampness"besides"heat,blood stasis,and deficiency",which accumulates over time and turns into toxins,leading to the occurrence of the disease.When treating the disease,Li Tie underlines figuring out this syndrome,and adopts the principle of"dispelling dampness and detoxifying"for its treatment.He formulates the Sicao Sigen Decoction,in combination with the Yiyi Zhuye Powder,to clear heat,cool blood,dispel dampness,detoxify,stop bleeding yet leaving no blood stasis.His therapeutic methods effectively improve patients'clinical symptoms and blood indicators in that the herbs applied help activate the spleen and eliminate dampness as well.In addition,they are modified flexibly according to specific syndromes to achieve remarkable clinical efficacy,without inducing obvious adverse reactions.关键词
