A case study on the treatment of osteofibrous dysplasia by Academician Tong Xiaolin based on the theory of wind-dampness of zang-fu viscera

Abstract
Osteofibrous dysplasia(OFD)is a rare benign osseous disorder characterized by the replacement of normal bone tissue with abnormally proliferative fibrous tissue,leading to clinical manifestations such as skeletal deformities and pathological fractures.Based on the theory of"wind-dampness of zang-fu viscera",Professor Tong Xiaolin identifies its core pathogenesis as the latent retention of wind-cold-dampness pathogens in bones,which over time transforms into stasis and disturbs the Shaoyang system.The therapeutic strategy for the disease involves initially regulating the Shaoyang pivot mechanism to expel pathogens,followed by dispelling cold,resolving dampness,fortifying the spleen and kidneys,modulating immunity,unblocking collaterals,and concurrently addressing blood stasis,achieving remarkable clinical efficacy.This article elucidates the traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment of osteofibrous dysplasia through case analysis,demonstrating a precision medicine approach to refractory diseases grounded in the wind-dampness of zang-fu viscera,thereby offering clinical insights in this regard.关键词
