摘要

Abstract

By the use of virtual ethnography and interview methods,the structural drivers of anti-consumerism behaviors and the construction of subjective consciousness among Chinese international students is studied,while also examining the catalytic role of online communities in this process.The research finds that international students' anti-consumerism behaviors are profoundly influenced by multiple structural factors,including the intersection of domestic and international economic and financial fields,traditional cultural and familial habits,differences across cross-cultural fields,societal structural changes,and perceptions of uncertainty.These factors provide a foundation for the emergence of anti-consumerism consciousness.Under structural constraints,international students achieve the transformation of anti-consumerism behaviors from passive adaptation to value recognition by actively constructing consciousness of use value,emotional reciprocity,resource circulation and awareness of environmental protection,and consciousness of rational capital allocation.Furthermore,online communities,as virtual transnational fields,catalyze the formation of anti-consumerism consciousness and promote the transformation of consciousness into practice through discourse confrontation,information sharing,and emotional support.
