Abstract

During the retrieval of coiled tubing in horizontal wells,the significant frictional resistance in the horizontal section often leads to the failure of conventional pull-type cutting and retrieval operations,as the pulling load from the surface cannot be fully transmitted to the cutting tool.To enhance the success rate of coiled tubing retrieval in horizontal wells,a rotating cutting and retrieval device specifically designed for such operations is proposed.A dynamic simulation model of the cutting tool is established using ADAMS software,and an orthogonal experimental method is employed to investigate the influence of three factors—blade edge angle,cutting speed,and cutting pressure—on the maximum angular acceleration and maximum contact force of the cutting tool.The theoretical support for the optimization of cutting tool parameters is provided.The analysis results indicate that the degree of influence on the maximum angular acceleration of the cutting tool,from high to low,is as follows:cutting pressure,cutting speed,and cutting edge angle.The degree of influence on the maximum contact force of the cutting blade,from highest to lowest,is as follows:cutting pressure,cutting edge angle,and cutting speed.Through comprehensive analysis,the optimal parameter combination is determined to be:a blade edge angle of 90°,a cutting speed of 50 r/min,and a single-blade cutting pressure of 600 N.
