Abstract

To recover iron resources from copper smelting slag,pine sawdust was used as a reducing agent and a reduction roasting magnetic separation process was adopted.The effects of roasting temperature,the mass ratio of pine sawdust to copper smelting slag,and insulation time on the reduction of copper smelting slag by pine sawdust were investigated,and the optimal experimental parameters were determined.The results showed that,when the temperature is controlled between 700 ℃ and 1 100 ℃,increasing the roasting temperature promoted the reduction of copper smelting slag.When the temperature exceeds 1 100 ℃,it is easy to cause the roasting products to melt and agglomerate.Therefore,to prevent the melting of roasting products from affecting subsequent magnetic separation,the optimal roasting temperature is determined to be 1 100 ℃.The increase in the mixing mass ratio of pine sawdust and copper smelting slag can also promote the reduction of copper smelting slag,but when the mixing mass ratio exceeds 0.5,it will lead to excessive reducing agent and increase product impurities.Therefore,the optimal mixing mass ratio is determined to be 0.5.Increasing the insulation time has a relatively small impact on the reduction effect of copper smelting slag.To reduce energy consumption,the optimal insulation time is determined to be 20 minutes.Under the optimal reduction conditions,a magnetic separation product with an iron grade of 50.17%and an iron recovery rate of 98.24%can be obtained.
