Abstract

The integration of large-scale renewable energy bases in desert-gobi regions into power grids via split-win-ding transformers often suffers from insufficient multiple renewable energy stations short-circuit ratio(MRSCR).Traditional solutions require deploying distributed synchronous condensers(DSCs)on the low-voltage sides of the split-winding transformers,but this approach leads to prohibitive investment and operational costs.To address this issue,this study first analyzes the impedance characteristics of split-winding transformers and proposes upgrading 10%of renewable energy capacity with grid-forming energy storage,complemented by voltage support devices on each low-voltage side.By comparing the MRSCR enhancement effects of DSCs and grid-forming storage,an optimization strategy for the low-volt-age winding capacity of split-winding transformers is developed.On this basis,a synergistic three-in-one configuration method combining"DSCs-grid-forming storage-split-winding transformer low-voltage capacity"is proposed to enhance MRSCR while reducing overall costs.Finally,a case study of a 1000 MW photovoltaic plant integrated into the Ningxia grid via three split-winding transformers was conducted,verifying both the technical feasibility and economic benefits of the proposed method.
