Abstract
A composite preservative system mainly composed of phenoxyethanol and 1,2-hexanediol has been designed.The preservative challenges,chicken embryo eye irritation experiments,and human patch tests have been evaluated to explore a milder,safer,more efficient,and better preservative composite system.Based on the results,5 sets of preservative composite systems were selected:composite of 0.15%PE9010 and 0.5%1,2-hexanediol(total amount of preservative agent is 0.65%),0.15%phenoxyethanol,composite of 0.12%chlorophenethyl ether and 0.50%1,2-hexanediol(total amount of preservative agent is 0.77%),composite of 0.15%phenoxyethanol and 0.40%octanoyl hydroxamic acid(total amount of preservative agent is 0.55%);composite of 0.2%1,2-hexanediol and 0.3%octanoyl hydroxamic acid(total amount of preservative is 0.50%),composite system of 0.10%sensiva™ SC 10 and 0.80%1,2-hexanediol(total amount of preservative is 0.9%).The results showed that the above-mentioned composite preservative system exhibited the safety,mildness,and no-irritation when it was applied to surface film matrix.关键词
