Abstract

Using the zebrafish model,the effects of taraxacum mongolicum extract and salvia miltiorrhiza extract on the blood flow velocity,heart rate,cortisol concentration,and vessel diameter of experimental zebrafish were tested,and the potential synergistic enhancement of blood microcirculation was studied.Additionally,the antioxidant effects of the two extracts were investigated by testing Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity(ORAC)and Hydroxyl Radical Antioxidant Capacity(HORAC).The results showed that when the two extracts were used alone,there was a significant enhancement of blood flow velocity at the concentrations from 0.01%to 0.09%.The synergistic enhancement effect occurred at a composite ratio from 1∶9 to 9∶1 when they were used in a composite manner.The combination of taraxacum mongolicum extract at 0.09%and salvia miltiorrhiza extract at 0.01%did not significantly affect heart rate and cortisol concentration,but increased the vessel diameter by 16%.These facts suggested that the two extracts may enhance blood flow velocity by expanding the blood vessels,and they may have potential benefits for promoting blood microcirculation.Both extracts exhibited good inhibiting oxygen radicals and hydroxyl radicals effects within the tested concentration range,and showed synergistic effects at the tested composite concentrations.
