Progress of CD133 in the Maintenance of Tumor Stemness in Esophageal Squamous Carcinoma
摘要
Abstract
CD133,a well-established cancer stem cell marker,has been implicated in the initiation,progression,and metastasis of various malignancies.However,its specific role and underlying mechanisms in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma remain insufficiently understood.This review systematically explores the association between CD133 expression and the pathogenesis,progression,and poor prognosis of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.We further highlight recent advances in understanding how CD133 mediates its oncogenic functions through mechanisms such as glycosylation modification,demethylation,and the regulation of key downstream effectors.By elucidating these pathways,we aim to provide new insights into the potential of CD133 as a therapeutic target in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma,offering a foundation for the development of more effective,targeted treatment strategies.关键词
