Soil nutrient comprehensive assessment of natural coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest in low mountainous area of Northeast China

Abstract
The comprehensive assessment of forest soil nutrients can clearly reveal the level of soil nutrients,which is of great significance for the improvement and management of forest soil productivity.Soils under the natural coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest in eight forest farms of Bajiazi Forestry Bureau in Yanbian,Jilin Province were taken as the research object.The soil nutrient status of different forest farms was analyzed by measuring soil pH,organic matter content,total nitrogen,total phosphorus,available phosphorus and readily available potassium.The structural equation model was established to determine the weights of soil nutrient indicators for the comprehensive assessment.The results showed that the mean soil pH in the natural mixed forest was 5.17.Soil organic matter,total nitrogen and readily available potassium were rich,total phosphorus was deficient,and available phosphorus was comparatively rich.The comprehensive assessment scores of soil nutrients ranged from 5.34 to 5.72,indicative of rich soil nutrients.According to the structural equation model,the weight coefficient of soil organic matter was the highest(0.32)in the natural coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest in the low mountainous area of Northeast China,and soil organic matter was very significantly positively correlated with total nitrogen,available phosphorus,and readily available potassium(P<0.01).The overall soil nutrient status in the study area was good and soil organic matter was the main factor affecting soil nutrients.Soil acidification may exist in the natural coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest,so appropriate tending and cutting are recommended to improve soil fertility.关键词
