The Surplus Value of"Playbour"from Marx's Perspective of Productive Labor:Exploring the Exploitation Mechanism

Abstract
The law of surplus value proposed by Marx assumes new manifestations in the digital age,as digital capitalism permeates people's daily lives under the guise of"entertainment",transforming"playing"into a novel mode of labor for the exploitation of workers.This phenomenon,termed"playbour",further conceals the fundamental nature and mechanisms of capital accumulation.Currently,there is considerable ambiguity in the academic community regarding the productive definition of"playbour"and its mechanism of surplus value exploitation,with some scholars even denying its productive status outright.According to Marx,the defining feature of productive labor lies in its capacity to create surplus value.From this perspective,"playbour"exhibits a dual character:one dimension directly or indirectly contributes to the creation of surplus value,while the other pertains to life services and is thus consumptive in nature.This structural division results in labor time invested in the life services aspect of"playbour"not being adequately compensated through the value realization process.The systematic discrepancy between labor inputs and value returns constitutes a distinct form of exploitation.Therefore,only through a deep analysis of the surplus value exploitation mechanisms embedded in"playbour"can the historical dynamics of capital's exploitation be elucidated,preventing digital"playbour"from autonomy erosion and the comprehensive alienation of subjectivity.关键词
