晚清民国时期中国侦探小说的两种创作路径
Two Creative Paths of Chinese Detective Novels in the Late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China:Taking the Works of Cheng Xiaoqing and Sun Liaohong as Examples
摘要
Abstract
Detective fiction was first introduced to China during the late Qing Dynasty primarily through translated works. It was not until the Republican era 1920s-1940s that a cohort of professional detective fiction writers emerged, producing localized literary works in this genre.Among them,Cheng Xiaoqing and Sun Liaohong stood out as the most celebrated practitioners, renowned respectively for their Huosheng Detective Stories and The Legendary Thief Lupin Casefiles series.Hailed contemporaneously as the"Qing-Red Duo",they pioneered authentic Chinese detective fiction:Cheng through his socially-conscious narratives blending investigative plots with critical realism, and Sun via his romanticized"chivalrous thief"tales infused with modernist irony.Together, they established two seminal creative approaches in modern Chinese detective fiction,the"social-problem novel"tradition and the"neo-romantic fiction"school.关键词
