New approaches to diagnosing and treating perimenopausal dry eye and developing dietary therapies guided by the theory of"yang transforming into qi while yin constituting form"
摘要
Abstract
Perimenopausal women experience a significantly increased prevalence of dry eye due to declining estrogen levels.The pathological features involve decreased tear secretion,reduced mucin content,and diminished tear film stability,along with increased tear osmolarity—a phenomenon described as"three decreases and one increase."Based on the Chinese medicine(CM)theory of"yang transforming into qi while yin constituting form,"the treatment of perimenopausal dry eye should prioritize nourishing the liver and kidney yin to enhance tear production(promoting yin formation),while secondarily warming yang and supplementing qi to improve tear distribution(strengthening yang transformation).Additionally,regulating qi and blood is essential to maintain tear film stability.Integrating modern medical research,this study proposes a safe and effective diet therapy using food-medicine dual-use herbs,such as Huangjing(Polygonati Rhizoma),Shihu(Dendrobii Caulis),and Gouqi(Lycii Fructus),as an adjunctive treatment for perimenopausal dry eye.These ingredients work synergistically to nourish the liver and kidney,balance yin and yang,alleviate symptoms,and regulate body constitutions in patients with this condition.关键词
